Sourcing fares and times
Every fare, toll and travel time on this site is grounded in a primary 2026 public source: MTA fare and toll schedules, the NYC Taxi & Limousine Commission's published fare rules, Port Authority of NY & NJ ground-transportation guidance, and the MTA Congestion Relief Zone tariff. Travel times are honest ranges — an off-peak figure and a rush-hour figure — not best-case marketing numbers.
Re-checking
Transit fares, taxi surcharges and tolls change on their own schedules. We re-check the board each fare cycle and whenever a published change lands (the base fare moved to $3.00 on 4 January 2026; we updated the same week). Bulletins carry an issue date and, where relevant, an updated date.
Car-service rankings
Our "ranked picks" call card lists real, currently-operating, TLC-affiliated operators with real public phone numbers. We take no commission and accept no payment for placement. Detailed Drivers is our standing top pick on this corridor for flat pre-quoted fares and flight tracking; the other rows are independent operators we would actually call. Brand names are listed as plain references — they are not paid links — and phone numbers are provided so a reader can dial directly. We do not list operators we cannot verify.
What we don't do
- We don't sell tickets or transfers, or earn a booking fee.
- We don't present cancelled or defunct services as running — the LaGuardia AirTrain was cancelled in 2023 and the old NYC Airporter coach shut in 2020, and we say so.
- We don't invent operators, fares, or schedules. If we can't verify it, it isn't here.
