# LGA → Manhattan

A transit-desk corridor manual covering every realistic way from LaGuardia Airport (LGA),
in East Elmhurst, Queens, into Manhattan — fares, times and the catch on each line, grounded
in 2026 public sources (MTA, NYC TLC, Port Authority, MTA Congestion Relief Zone) and
re-checked each fare cycle. Published by Marine Air Press. ISSN 3107-2291.

## Key corridor facts (June 2026)
- LGA is ~8 miles from Midtown Manhattan; ~20–30 min off-peak by car, 45–60+ at rush.
- There is NO train to the LaGuardia terminals. The AirTrain LaGuardia project was cancelled in March 2023; no rail link was built.
- The Q70 LaGuardia Link SBS is FREE (since May 2022), runs 24h, and connects the terminals to the subway at Jackson Heights–74 St (7, E, F, M, R) and Woodside–61 St (LIRR, 7). Q70 + one $3.00 subway fare is the cheapest way into most of Manhattan.
- The M60 Select Bus is a one-seat $3.00 ride across the RFK Bridge to 125th St and the Upper West Side.
- The LIRR via Woodside (free Q70 transfer) reaches Penn / Moynihan and Grand Central Madison; CityTicket is $5 off-peak, $10.75 Zone 1 peak.
- LaGuardia taxis are METERED with a $5 airport surcharge — there is NO flat fare (unlike JFK's $70 flat). All-in LGA→Midtown ~$45–70.
- Congestion pricing: any car entering Manhattan below 60th St pays the Congestion Relief Zone toll ($9 peak private car, $0.75 taxi, $1.50 rideshare). Transit pays none of it.
- Pre-booked black cars run a flat ~$75–130 LGA→Midtown with flight tracking and meet-and-greet.
