The M60 Select Bus is the only public route that takes you from the LaGuardia curb across the river to Manhattan without a transfer. It runs through Astoria, over the RFK Bridge, and the length of 125th Street to Broadway and West 106th, threading every Harlem subway line on the way. Pay before you board at the sidewalk machine, keep your receipt. For Harlem, Columbia and the Upper West Side it is unbeatable value; for Midtown it is slower than the Q70-plus-train because it fights bridge and crosstown traffic.
Riding it
- 1Pay at the Select Bus fare machine on the sidewalk before boarding — $3.00 with OMNY or a card — and keep the receipt as proof of payment.
- 2Board the M60 SBS outside Terminal B or C; it heads through Astoria (transfer to the N/W at Astoria Blvd) and over the RFK Bridge.
- 3It runs the full length of 125th St — transfer to the 4/5/6, 2/3, A/B/C/D or 1, or to Metro-North at Harlem–125th St.
- 4Stay aboard to the end at Broadway and West 106th St for the Upper West Side.
Anywhere on 125th St, Columbia / Morningside, the Upper West Side, or any trip where a single $3.00 fare and no stairs beats speed.
Heading to Midtown or Downtown — you ride the long way across Harlem and still have to come back south, so the Q70-plus-train usually wins on time.
What it really costs
| M60 Select Bus fare | $3.00 |
| Free transfer to subway / local bus (2 hrs) | included |
| OMNY weekly cap | $35, then free |
| Total, LGA → Upper Manhattan | $3.00 |
Service notes
- Select Bus Service means you pay on the sidewalk, not the driver — fare inspectors check receipts on board.
- The $3.00 you pay is simply the standard 2026 base fare (raised from $2.90 on 4 January 2026), not an airport premium.
- It crosses the tolled RFK Bridge, but the toll is the agency’s problem, not yours — your fare is the flat $3.00.
