How to play it
Grand Central Madison put the LIRR directly under East Midtown — Q70 to Woodside, then one quick train.
The 7 from Woodside runs straight to Grand Central–42 St.
Simple curb-to-curb; the trip ends below 60th, so the $0.75 congestion fee applies.
Midtown East is below 60th Street, so any car you take in — taxi, rideshare or black car — crosses into the Congestion Relief Zone. That adds $0.75 to a yellow taxi, $1.50 to an Uber or Lyft, and the $9 peak toll to a private car you drive yourself. The Q70, M60 and LIRR pay none of it. See the congestion-pricing bulletin.
